Here is the process of creating an acrylic pen.

I have started out with a clear polyresin based acrylic mixture. Once the pigment dyes have been mixed to create the desired colors a catalyst is added to each color.

The different colored acrylics have to cure to a point where they can be combined without mixing into each other too much, but to a point where they can still be poured.

Here is a photo of the process of creating the acrylic blank for the pen I posted yesterday.

Once cured, the acrylic is cut into one inch dowels in order to be turned on the lathe.

The acrylic is cut to length, then drilled and carved to the correct diameter on the lathe.
After the pen has been sanded and polished, all components are assembled and the pen is polished again.
